still can’t get new photos onto flickr. dunno why. in other news, i made a ribbed headband for my friend dave, i will take a photo of him wearing it and attempt to post it. it may be too chunky and earwarmerish. i may need to make one out of cotton or something.
the big news, which is making my stomach hurt, is that the guy i work with apparently left a note on my door in the middle of the night over the weekend, which i never got, not sure if he left it on someone else’s door or if someone, i won’t mention any names, grabbed it. anyway, i guess he wants to leave, again, and i’m not sure why exactly, he is in a band, although they are done touring for a while, and his work ethic is poor, so if he works at another shop, he won’t work there long. i am surprised at how not upset i am. i have the prerequisite stomach ache, but that’s all. i slept, knitted, no biggie. i had been thinking since the summer about whether i should leave and open a separate office for the cosmetic tattooing stuff. i am tired of the other people in my industry and their lack of professionalism, as well as some of our clients, which have rotten teeth. or rather “toofs”. this is the kick in the ass that i need, i will still tattoo, regardless, but only select people, i just need to decide if i should stay where i am, which will pick up those people, or if i should take the active step to move away from it.
i have the usual morning unwellness, but i tattoo jason with the red hair today, so i will have a nice mellow day. i am going to act like i don’t know anything about dan’s plans and let him sweat it out. he is the biggest coward i have ever met. i’m not mad or anything, it is his usual behavior, i guess i should be honored that he didn’t just stop showing up and have terrie from dv8 tell me. um, snb is friday, so that should be awesome. yay!! i’ll attempt to post photos when i get home. i guess we’ll see about that.

heather’s birthday

being natasha fialkovmy laptop did not want to start, which it has done once before, and it worries me. i like to keep things until they are battered, and i may have to steal another laptop if this one dies. noooooo. also, i can’t get my newest photos to show up in flickr so i can’t put up the new photos that i want to post. not cool, flickr, or ibook, or me, whosever’s fault this is. it is a gorgeous day today, warm and SUNNY, 50 degrees i think. i feel pretty good today, had some of my excellent sensio coffee. i realized that i sent the message to my friends and family about the blog without including the url.

in other news, the rainbow cardigan that i am making for my niece it about 2/3 done, i took photos of it, but can’t upload them, so…you’ll have to imagine it. it looks really cute, and is the first sweater i have attempted, and while it isn’t really complex, all in stockinette, the size is exactly right, it looks really good. we’ll see what happens when i have to do my first buttonholes.

i had some ideas for some knitting notions, some short needles with handmade ends, some handpainted tape measures…i will probably hit the art supply today for some fimo clay.

my friend jason is going to help me in putting some variety into my blog, for which i am incredibly grateful, and i cannot wait. when he told me that he could do it online if i wanted, i was amazed. why didn’t I think of that?

ok, well i will try to post photos again later. i will put a photo of heather and i in because it is her birthday and i love her dearly. happy birthday heather!!

valentine’s

so i woke up this morning and feel pretty good. and it is my day off. and i got a gift certificate for my favorite local yarn store, knitwits, which is not open on mondays. so i am not sure if i should put on the comfy clothes and stay in, or if i should go out. anyway, my sweet husband got my a sensio coffeemaker two weeks ago as an early vday present, which i have been rocking. i had to get the hang of it because it is really strong, and i initially had a caffeinated double and felt like i was having a heartattack. so i only use i pod for 8 oz now. he sent me a floral arrangement from le jardin on saturday at work, which was really beautiful, and in a vase, which is nice because they don’t die before you get home. then on saturday he gave me the cards and gift cert, which he said was from the cats. he is a sweet man. i gave him cards.

i went to send someone a hallmark egreeting and the site is down for maintainance. today.

i went to my super-good friend heather’s bday party on saturday with jake and our friend jason, who we hadn’t seen in a while. i made her some really cute things which i neglected to photograph. i have my local stitch n bitch’s second meeting on friday, so i will take photos of it then. i need to take today to photo some stuff today to post.

i had strange dreams, as usual last night, that a friend’s father had died and the friend was interested in me, and i in him, but i have never met this friend. i think it was because i watched the l word last night and feel for jenny. you always feel like you may do some strange thing and ruin your entire life. maybe it’s just me.

on saturday, in my usual tired/headache/30 minutes past pain pill chit chat talked to jason about one of his friends who is somewhat of a flake, and about other people, and knitting, and embracing what you are good at. some of us fight against doing what we are good at because we assume it is not worthwhile. only things that would be harder are. some people can’t even tell what they are good at, what they like, what would be interesting. although once it is work, maybe it isn’t fun anymore anyway. anyway, i’ll post some photos later.

crap.

i just started to post, then looked at my settings and lost my post. anyway, today we went to the bookstore because i needed a small sketchbook/journal for my bag. i ended up getting the new interweave knits magazine, which has some good ideas about recycled knits and some fine art knitting. i picked up “last minute knitted gifts” which was written by the woman who owns Purl in NY, and has some really beautiful things in it.

we just got groceries and went home afterwards.

i actually felt energetic today, for the first time in quite a while, but i did tire out fast.

oh yeah. also, there is a new wm. gibson book out, ‘beyond recognition’, which i picked up because i am a dork. i haven’t been reading as much because all i do is knit. i am going to get a book stand so that i can read and knit at the same time. good for the brains i think. i could do that and ride a bike around. i can’t wait to ride on jake’s motorcycle and knit. elizabeth zimmerman style. i think i can do it. there will be a back rest, so i won’t fall off. as easily.

anyway, i am excited to overcome my usual technophobic slant, and hope also that i will be able to get back some of my former creative energy.
