you know what time it is? and my wheel is for sale?
for some reason i cannot stop watching the terrible trainwreck that they call “flavor of love”. there is a contestant nicknamed “new york” that is the freakiest, scariest woman or man(i say that because she could be a he, i think). so! i went to try to find out the story on her and everything that talked about the cast had nothing about her. curious? rumours have also been going around that he knocked her up and is with her. i couldn’t even find a photo of the woman to post.
another character, hottie has a website, and it is really hilarious. is university of penn a ivy league? just asking, is all. this site had all the sites of the girls (i use the term loosely) that have sites, or myspace things going on. or not going on. and when they list their “film” or tv appearances…oh, it is so sad. they sound like this “asian tourist” or “excited fan”. the humilation. my knitting appears on: my mom’s neck, a shelf in a closet somewhere, etc. you know? the season finale is sunday. while i don’t care about the result, i will watch it to see if anyone gets hurt. i am so not pc. the women’s college, ne university that i graduated from would be so ashamed. sorry, shc, i mean shu.
in other news, i was so exhausted today, after the insane hauling butt that i have been doing that i had a really hard time getting going. when i finally did, i wound the rest of the yarn i spun into skeins to dye, and then dyed them. all 9 of them. almost 1500 yards in 2 days. for me, that is a lot. i also dyed a few oounds of fiber. i dyed each skein only one color, darker at one end than the other, which i never do. but they looked really pretty, just shades of the same color. half are bright pink, half are teal. really pretty. it was a chore to ring em all out and spin em, with fiber, i put it in the washer to spin out. so. tiring. and i am not sure if it will all be dry in time to take to pittsburgh to-morrow. i was supposed to hook up with amy early, during her break from school and i don’t think that will happen. i am supposed to hook up with jason, who i don’t get to see that often and i am probably going to have to push the time back, methinks. i may have to blow-dry the fiber and then tag it. and write up an invoice, and i haven’t updated my site because i don’t know what is going where. sigh.
i have talked to my soul sister, regina about doing a project together that does a different subject using any media. she said she was into it, so hopefully we can get that going.
lastly, i am in the market for a new spinning wheel that can more comfortably spin for 8 hours at a clip, although this is a wonderful wheel. she has done nothing wrong. that said, if anyone is interested in my wheel, which is a louet single treadle, i have a bunch of bobbins, it has a built in lazy kate, i have the bulky flyer, which is awesome and the bobbins are really big. i can normally get more than 200 yards of bulky yarn on em. everything is worth about 550 bucks new, but i am open, so email me if you are interested. i would keep it if i didn’t need the money for a new one.
i am going to veg out and knit a bit. i didn’t have time to take photos, but i will before i get rid of everything to-morrow. i will, i will.
smoochies, y’all.

As you know, I have CFS, so I use an electric wheel. I have a Ertoel Roberta, which I LOVE. It’s an Aussie wheel, which was a bonus, but I know you can get them in the States. Um… it’s a workhorse, guaranteed for a bunch of years even if you spin every day. the motor is pretty quiet, it has a reverse switch, which is great for plying (or for me, because I spin backwards, for some reason).
It’s not as romantic as spinning on a traditional wheel, but it’s tiny and portable (I like to take mine out onto the balcony, especially when I’m spinning alpaca). The apature isn’t huge, probably just under an inch, but you can get a jumbo bobbin and I’ve never had a problem with anything not fitting, even giant sequins. And it’s cute and it comes in a little suitcase.
Or, you could got the other way and get one of those ‘exercise wheels’ with the double foot so it’s kind of like a stair master. If I had more energy, I think spinning one of those would be the best exercise ever.
Ideally, I’d have an electric and a manual machine. One day!

Oh man i LOVE that show. It’s too crazy to be real; i can’t believe those women exist in real life. And Hottie is so creepy- i hope i never see her again. Ever.
