i just don’t feel like playing with your toy nuts!
all of my fiber is dry (except for the silk noil) i was able to hang it up outside, so it was dry quickly. i dyed some uncarded targhee(i think it feels similar to merino, really soft and bouncy and spongy) fiber from frenecreek farm which is wonderful. i also got some washed uncarded tunis fiber from ebay, because i have been trying to use different things. it was supposed to be washed, it was washed, but it was both dirty and had all sorts of straw and crap in it. so gross. i will remember to stick with frenecreek and not buy from other people. the fiber came out gorgeous. i think it was about 10 lbs. although our scale, which i stood on (gasp!) and then stood on with the bags of fiber and it told me it was 3 lbs. what? a giant garbage bag filled with rolled up roving and two 2-gallon sized bags stuff full of uncarded fiber, which i hand picked. 3 lbs? our scale sucks. also, i can now say that i weigh 15 lbs less than i do, because the scale is clearly wrong. seriously.
ooh, i just saw a commercial for “running with scissors” and it looks awesome. also it was made from the creator of nip/tuck, and that is saying something! and the new nip/tuck season started and i loves me some nip/tuck. although, tivo screwed me out of the season finale, and i still haven’t seen it. i have no idea who the ripper person was. kathleen turner is on this week. not too shabby. i always meant to read the book, but i always feel inclined to read literature. i feel like i need to always be learning something, i feel guilty reading fluff. dunno why. ther is also a commercial a commercial for stranger than fiction, which looks hilarious, also. and they have 2 other promos that are not on any other channels. odd!
ok. i will now stop blabbering, but here are some photos…pics of the pressies from velma
one of 3 paintings. a bit of collage and loads of paint.
likey?
fiber photos to-morrow.

n.

cool beans. my scale is broken as well. Well it has never worked since someone threw it out the second floor bathroom window. I think it was part of a fight between Keanu reees and Benji

looks like you got spoilt by Velma.
I like the paintings but when I look at them they remind me of breasts!! *lol* Either way very unusual & unique - it says a lot about your talent - free and out there !!
I wish I wasnt so stiff and ridgid, Im too much of a perfectionist - and it kills my creativity

abe, thanks so much!
as for the perfectionist issue, you just have to find the media that works for you and your talents.

hey, have you gotten fiber from homestead wool? very sweet people - and it is a rescue farm. everything i’ve gotten from them has been amazing. ebay is such the crapshoot, no?

I finally added some more coats of mod podge to my paper beads and they are getting to how I want them. I will try to take pictures sometime; they are looking great! I used an old pottery barn magazine for some and they’re looking awesome. It’s weird how paper flat looks so much different from paper rolled sometimes!
Your paintings look great. I am always amazed when people can do so many different things. I am not artsy at all.

jess, do your beads feel tacky to you? when i used modpodge i felt like they were tacky? and yes, it is insane how different paper looks rolled up. the most ugly paper can look amazing.
thanks for the compliment! how do you figure you are not artsy? silly lady!

n, i’m addicted to nip/tuck too! i didn’t discover it until about 2 months ago, and rented all the dvds in succession to be ready for the premier this week. too good. makes me feel so normal (in a good way). and running w/ scissors, oh! did you read the book? HI-larious. but sad. creepy. he wrote 3 others, 2 more memoirs and a novel, but i still like r w/ s best. didna know that it’s by the n/t peeps.
that booby comment was on the money, although i still think they look like olives! xo v

Yeah, they stick together and stuff. There is some note on the label about using “clear acrylic sealer” or something like that to get rid of the tackiness but I didn’t see it at the store.
I’m kind of crafty, but when it comes to art stuff I am challenged. I couldn’t draw or paint my way out of a paper bag!

jess, so maybe with those ones i should just spray them with clearcoat. i will try it and let you know.
thankfully, the time should never come that you need to paint your way out of a paper bag. i hope.
