spinny spanny spunny spun spun!

i spun so much today that my legs cramped up. and i even skeined and steamed some it! crazy, huh? it seems that it doesn’t suck as much to do a couple of skeins as it does to do…say 8. i run out of bobbins and use the lendrum bobbin (which kind of fits) on the louet. so.

the only other thing to report is that my friend jessica came by on the way out of town to pick up some fiber. i got to meet her hubby and adorable baby girl. our cat pavel has never seen a baby (or toddler, rather) he was terrified. the baby sort of reached out her arms and giggled in a non-threatening way…he scratched jake, who was holding him and ran away. and he hid away until they left! can you believe it! terrified. a nerdling.

oh, yesterday i watched “brokeback montain” which was remarkably boring. the cinematography was gorgeous, but the story…not so exciting. i do appreciate the comment on how difficult it is to let the world know who you are, no matter what that happens to be. and by difficult, i mean, you could get…you know…killed. otherwise, i was really underwhelmed. so. let the stoning commence!

today, whilst spinning, i watched “cassanova” after yesterday’s loooooooong flick, i didn’t have high hopes. wait..why have i seen 3 movies with the same dude in them lately. and two of the three sucked. anyway, it didn’t suck. it was really fun. oliver platt was in it, but they made him look different, with false teeth, and he was hilarious. i recommend it.

whilst grocery shopping, we saw JG and his lady, nichole. what did i get at the store? well, season doodads for yarns…leaves which have no stems, and are all soft, i cannot wait. after buying them, i noticed that barb had done all kinds of season things already. i am behind every damn year. sheesh. i bet lynn has hers cranking, too. anyway, i got flies and almost got glow in the dark spiders, but they were too hard to poke a hole in. i need to go to joann’s to-morrow to pick up a few things (got my coupons, valid to-morrow!) and i plan to check out the seasonal offerings.

i am suddenly tired. so off i go…pics? okay.
this is a big flufy bulky single called seasideseaside single

and this is a big fluffy baby who is terrified of giggling toddlers and vacuum cleaners. poor fella.must. wash. face.

mwah! mwah! mwah! (oops i slobbered)

  3. I agree with you on Brokeback – the other thing that aggravated me was their clothes – they were always perfectly clean and pressed, not a spot of dirt on them. I don’t care if they were gay men; their clothes were not going to stay pristinely clean if they were living in a tnet and working in the mountains. I don’t know what the costume designer was thinking by not scruffing up the clothes. Michele

  7. zeeps, i would spin squirrel hair, but they won’t sit on my lap and they bite. i did use a spindle before i got a wheel, i was never good at it, but i did have fun. it is a cheap and portable way to try to spin yarn, though.

hey, i think that oliver platt is my new crush – he is the funniest thing around. you see him on that shrink show, huff? awe-some.

  15. Nope, so far no seasonal trimmings unless you count the ever present handcarved bone skulls I use. Just doing a lot of fall colors. One skein came with some silk leaves that weren’t spun in – just included. I’ve used some glow-in-the-dark threads lately. I’ve thought about spinning in some of the Halloween trinkets but I haven’t really found any that I like much. Most of them are just so cheap looking. I want to find some cute stuff for the Fluff Candy swap.
