i have heard that phrase several times lately. so strange. and also on two separate tv shows…frakk. not that the two are related. or are they? hmmmm.

so, i finished a bunch of scarves and necky things today, a few more to figure out. i did find the buttons, after all of that, i had put them in the paint tray with plans to paint them. so. at least it makes sense as to where they were. i needed more, anyway, so ran out to joann’s. i got some madder rose watercolor paint and a couple of pallets, some buttons, and then headed to the dreaded walmart to peruse there small, but cheap selection of buttons. oh and raspberry sherbet. cannot have enough of that. i found several of the exact same buttons priced at $4 at joann’s for .78 at walmart. crazy stuff. so. i use giant buttons for my necky things…well over an inch, 1 3/8 usually. so. a bit hard to find.

i also did a big fat bobbin of scrappy yarn, all in pinks and oranges on white fiber. purdy. and then i carded up some dusky purple and brown targhee i had dyed a while ago and spun a big bobbin of that, which also looked really pretty.

i have some really pretty ink and watercolor drawerings i did last night of feathers. my new thing, feathers. i will take photos to-morrow if i can.

oh, and i got to talk to velma today which was really nice, although i was a bit rushed. it was so nice to hear your voice!

i am so looking forward to getting these orders out so i can clear out my studio, clean up and do some paintings. whew! want something purdy? ok. lemme see…a bird girl, and i think an old time hooker in the back? dunno.

what about a tree woman? growing into or out of the ground? not sure.

that was just strange. not really pretty. i can do better. i am sure of it…what about some wrapped super coil magic, ala LOLLY III?

well, well, well. i listed the seasonal yarns on etsy, as promised and in less than 5 minutes, everything was gone. woah! i was so excited that i high-5′d jake. i was in the midst of listing stuff and it looked like nothing had been listed. i cursed, thinking something went wrong. nope, they were gone already. i wish i had more to list, and i appreciate the patience of everyone, although, please let me know if you see something that you want on my flickr, i will see what i can do. okay?

so from there, i am trying to get my boutique orders done. i realized that because i hate adding snaps, buttons, fringe, etc, i left everything to be done ALL AT ONCE like a dummy. if you hate doing just one, then 30 would be way better, right? right? i put fringe on most of the scarves i have made, i also crocheted cute borders from handspun around some of the plainer pieces. looks gorgeous. oh crochet, i am sorry that i ever doubted you, or said that i didn’t like how you looked. i was wrong! you have no limits, crochet. you can go in any direction, like a superhero! i made a bobble as a closure on a necky thing, it is giant, and then a crocheted loop. very cute. and it helped with the fact that i bought big (more than an inch) wooden buttons for the necky things (anyone with giant buttons interested in trading, let me know!) but cannot find them. i have a mini chest of drawers with a drawer devoted to big buttons…labeled, even…and they aren’t in there. so. infuriating. the more organized i attempt to be, the more i cannot find what i need. so, i will be going out to get it to-morrow. so i spent most of the day sorting the stuff and finishing things. i am thinking that magnetic closures would be great for necky things but i dunno if they make such a thing other than for necklaces. the crocheted bobbles are really cute, though. i will take a photo if i think of it. i need to get these orders out this week. i have been spinning everything i have, just one after the other, and then knitting up stuff, so i am not sure how much i have and how much i need. my hope is that i will count and find that i have more than i need. that would rock! i do have a TON of yarn spun up, so much that while i was looking for something amongst the big box it lives in, i was reminded of yarns i didn’t even remember.

i got this adorable children’s (?) book written by one of my favorite authors, margaret atwood. rude ramsey and the roaring radishes it is filled with R-words, although most of the words would be out of the understanding of most little kids, the illustrations are really cute and the story is funny. i imagined giving it to my niece and making my family deal with the “why? why? what is that? what? what? what?”s which would be really funny. really cute though.

i also got the second of my yarn packages, from bev…thanks so much! she did so well. not a single thing in there that i won’t use. really good!

ooh, also, battlestar gallactica starts on friday which is also my BIRTHDAY! wooo hooo! there was a special on tonite that just kind of catches you up on the past season, and i am so excited to see the new season. so. excited. and gilmore girls. what will happen? oh my. too much for my brain to handle. so many really good shows.

i have been using either paint or ink to force myself to be more comfortable with making a line and accepting it. although, i do tear pages out now and then. bad bad me. i am human, after all.

ok, don’t get too excited, there aren’t that many seasonals, but there are some more halloweens to come (more? yes, there are a couple already!)i will be updating around 5p and i think i will be doing it on the etsy store due to being able to see multiple views…so that is www.luxe.etsy.com. i think i am going to also list this cutie piggy bank, i think it is from the 30’s or 40’s, i have more photos if you are interested and it is in perfect condition. i just can’t keep everything. can i? no seriously. let me know if you are interested before she is gone.

is this scary or beautiful? it is a sweet patootle and it is so pretty, i can’t throw it out. it looks like it should be able to swim. like a manatee…

where have i been, you ask? or, why didn’t i call? well! i have had a migraine coming for a few days, i didn’t know why i felt so strange and was sleeping so much, but that was it. so, yesterday, i got up super late, went to the art supply to get some watercolor board (that is the SUUUUUper thick stuff) and a brush pen (remember i was on about them? i wanted a finer one. anyway, i was there chitchatting with my friend eileen whose sister owns the store and looking at stuff because they had a crazy sale going on this weekend. i got stuff for 75% off! seriously! my nose started running. all of sudden. then, my eye started twitching. the back of my head felt numb. i realized i needed to get out of there and get home. jake was at that bachelor party so i was all excited about being able to get a bunch of work done…i ran to the post office to mail stuff via the machine. there is a lady in front of me mailing letters through the machine and calculating postage per envelope. she must have had 50 letters. seriously. dunno what the deal was. so i waited. eyes twitching, head pounding, no medication cause i am so close to home, i didn’t think about it. so, 25 minutes later, i am home. and in bad shape. i take my pills, but now feel like i am going to vomit and i know that if i vomit, i will have to go to the hospital…anyway, i fell asleep around 7:30p in a dark silent room, and woke up…at noon. ya. and the last couple of days i have slept almost that much. just at night, but still.

my head is still really bad, so i am off to take a shower and try to fall asleep. i have some pen and ink/watercolor things to show ya, and some pen and ink drawerings, too. plus a zillion yarns. my head, i fear, is up my ass at this point. i am so out of it. .wish me luck to wake up with a spring in my step. i have much to do. miles to go before i sleep.

i had some cool links for ya and i don’t know where they went. nooooo! i will dig them back up. i know i have other stuff to say, too. but, you know how that goes.
