step, thump, step, thump…oh no! pirates!

peeps' snoot
guess what i have? a migraine! woo hoo! i woke up feeling hung over (moreso than usual) and spent the day catching up on paperwork and emails and stringing sequins for yarns and crocheting some of them up for the show. i made a crazy yarn out of bits and pieces, sparkle and then used all of the teeny scraps of felt from projects strung onto thread, then plied with several threads and the one holding the scrap and it looks amazing. jake described it as a stuffed animal carnage. and it crocheted up sooooo cool! i used a big hook and then made the loops even bigger, adjusting as i went to make sure that the flags didn’t get caught up. i will post a pattern after the show. it is easy peasy, but is great for the really unusual lumpy yarns. and i made a long skinny scarf with about 36 yards super bulky, so that is really nice, too, as that is all that fits on a big bobbin, it is so bulky. i have two other skeins of it. i will make sure to post photos. it has just been so dreary, i really need to make a lightbox so i can take photos anytime!

i let jason know about your kind comments and emails and he said a big THANKS! they kept him today, as well, because he will be on crutches and his other foot is really sore, so he isn’t able to get around without being in horrible pain. his girlfriend is flying out from LA to help take care of him, so he won’t be staying with us, which is super sweet of her. he has an amazing family and i imagine they would have wanted to come out if he had wanted them to. so thanks again, everyone!

i got a sequin order today from cartwrights, my favorite sequin place. i got through them pretty fast.i use a whole packet for a skein of yarn, which is about 750-1000 usually. i string them by hand whilst watching tv. i like how it looks in conjunction with clusters, or just the singles all over the place. it is so sparkly!

i got to talk to linda today for the first time and i was so excited! she is one of the biggest sources of inspiration and kind words. and awesome hats. don’t ever forget the hats!

i will close with a kitty tummy. this is my sweet kahlo. she is a bit OCD about licking and has licked the fur off of most of her underside. her tummy is the softest thing you have ever felt. she is the most cuddly, sweet girl you have ever met. she sleeps on me, or on my pillow as much as she can, especially if i am doing something that makes it inconvenient. and if i am sick, she always comes to watch over me. velvet tummy?
hairless belly

pics in the next post, i swear!
