here i am!

well, i feel guilty about not blogging much lately, not spinning, drawing, or much of anything else. i have been knitting and crocheting as much as i can, to get some things done, but i haven’t had the energy to do much more until this week. praise be! so! yesterday i dyed a bunch of fiber and some sock yarn for secret pal 9 peeps and the site. i plan to do a big update on friday. i will keep you updated. so wanna see the special sock yarn for sp9? the yarn yenta made suggestions on colors and names, and it is called hawthorne.
hawthorne close
i still need to let it completely dry and wind it off into skeins, so i will of course take photos at that point because it makes it look so much purdier. no? i also did this one, called “see-green”
seegreen fingering superwash sock
i am doing all of them in both fingering and sport weights, and of course it is superwash merino. what else? more to come, for sure.

i am a proud member of the board for the new yarn museum started by linda of stone leaf moon yarns. you can contribute to the museum with pics of your own creations, or just go and check it out. it is really exciting, and linda is one of my heroes. she pushes the boundries of art and craft, in addition to being one of the sweetest women ever. of all times. and did i mention that she is amazingly talented? well, she is. anyway, the museum has different online exhibits and i think they are hoping to do a non-virtual museum at some point, as well! woo hoo!

i made these wristwarmers for my mom, and if she doesn’t wear them, i am taking them back. no, seriously. once i get some of my other projects out of the way, i will make some for myself. i love them! i used some yarn from the joann’s fancy collection that is a blend of wool, cotton and a bit of nylon, and it is so so nice, i must say. jojo’s has loads of yarn marked 40% off at the moment, and it is really nice quality. i am impressed. and that, from a yarn snob! wanna see the armwarmers?
handwarmers
i made up the pattern and do plan to post it soon. i swear. it was easy to do, i used the magic loop method. anyway, i will do it soon. soon. i am sure no one believes me anymore.

i was pleased to hear that oj’s deal fell through. and i was proud of britney for telling kfed to stuff it up his arse. good for her! next thing you know, she will learn to knit!

what else? i made a few hats for my niece, maddy. i used brown sheep and then some manos i had from ages ago, when i used to buy yarn (although i have been buying yarn when i get a good deal for handspun or for little projects)…anyway, i remember how fun it is to make up hat patterns as i go.
hat for maddy
kid’s stuff is fun because it can be over the top and they will like it even better. plus, they love the intense colors. so, i also made a pink hat, i need to embellish it, still. so i just added the little poppies to this one, with vintage buttons, of course. chic!

in other news, i finally ordered a digital scale and managed to have it and every other thing i have ordered from amazon go to my mom’s house in iowa. sigh. i need to go now and check out if i made the mistake or amazon did. i swear that i remember sending the different items to different places. we will see.

i had my medication changed and i have been feeling better. still tired, but different, because my mood is better, so i can push through it more. it only got changed late last week, so we will see.

xoxo

I have been thinking about you and sending good energy your way. I hope that some of it makes it to you.

Your sock yarn is really gorgeous, especially the see-green. That is right up my alley!

Enjoy the holiday with your loved ones – I suspect you have many more people who care about you than you can even imagine.
