Well, I've called it roving for 25 years so it is going to be a hard habit to break. I guess needle felters use roving but top doesn't work for them - at least that's what I read. I would hate for someone to buy my top and try to needle felt it.

Oooh - you got a nice review by Lime & Violet today!

lynn, i think i like the term "roving" better for some reason, but i said something about it on my blog before and adrian corrected me and i realized that i should try to use proper terminology just in case a buyer does know the difference and thinks they are buying something different than they are buying. although we are showing photos, so that should make it a bit clearer. did you see my "braids"? much easier to store, ship and photo! thanks!

I'm guilty of throwing the word "roving" around. Note to self: must change that on my new website. I call them rovings on my website and then describe them as top. But yeah, there is a difference - top has been combed. I sell top. I need to fix that. Thanks for pointing that out. I never really thought too hard about it.

Nice update. Hope it's going well for you. I actually completely cleaned up my dining room over the weekend so it no longer looks like a textile mill. Unfortunately today I dyed up 12 new TOPS and all the photographic equipment and the new TOPS are cluttering things up again. I do need to take some downtime for the holidays. Must.force.myself.:)
