stephanie, i agree! good animal stories are always a good thing.

amanda, we should maybe talk and find out what happened. theoretically, it isn't possible for it to felt without a drastic temp change and friction, and it should have had neither. it either felted whilst you were putting the dye on it, or when you rinsed it. email me if you want to talk and i will shoot over my phone number...i haven't had anything felt and i am rather rough with my stuff, i really am.

mal, i am glad it cracked you up! i thought it was hilarious.

zeeps, your wife must be a very special lady to not be freaked out by a clown in her attic. i would be terrified. in fact, if it were me, you may have been shot.

Gorgeous yarn from Lainezinzin! Omigosh! That would totally make its way into a display dish or something so I could just look at it, pet it every once in awhile, etc.!

No solution to the ziploc bag issue - sounds like you're reusing them as much as possible, which is good. Feel guilty enough, maybe you can use the hole-y bags (holy ziploc bags, Batman!) in some kind of recycled art pieces. Nah. I'm full of crap! Have you noticed with dishwasher dyeing that merino felts? I did 2 pounds in 4 oz. lots in the dishwasher, and most of it felted in spots. Couldn't use it to sell or spin, so I'm carding it, but still bummed!

ok zeeppo comment made me laugh, and laughter is good.

my other comments are :

PINK!

and

great birdie story. love bird stories with happy endings. In fact, any animal story with a happy ending and a not too heartbreaking middle is just great.

(PINK!)

Yay the bird lived.

Actually my wife found me in her attic one day. I go trapped up there and could not get out. She fed me for a couple of days and I stuck around.

Maybe it is not quite the same.
