so! excitement abounds! early this morning…1:30 a, i think, it is raining and cool so we have the windows open. i am reading mappa mundi and i think i hear a mewing. no. it is something creaking. no. no. mewing. you guys know me…i went outside in the dark and rain in my pj’s and followed the mewing 5 or 6 houses down the street and across the road to the side of a house full of vegetation (it was dark, okay?) up to my waist and an airconditioning unit and stick my arm to feel around because i can’t see a damn thing at night. seriously. i hate it. i am so scared of the dark. but not when a cat is involved! anyway, i ran back home (walked fast, i don’t run. i really don’t.) and located the flashlight that i originally planned to bring but couldn’t find and saw a teeny thing moving and looked to see if there were any more kittens or a mama. nope. what resulted is the most adorable teeny 2 week old kitten of all times. she has hair like brian setzer, but gray, i have never seen a kitten with such an odd hairstyle.
she is doing really well, we are not positive of what we will name her, but i think isabelle with all of its shortened versions might be it. anyone with any ideas, leave a comment. i was up every 2 hours feeding her, etc, so i am a bit pooped out, i fear.
i did pop in to tj maxx to look for a few new cardigans because mine are poo. they look awful. i will probably post photos of that. and the wire leg tutorial.

On the practical side: you do know the trick of rubbing their bottoms with damp cotton wool to stimulate their bowels? Otherwise they get bunged up something awful. Good luck and have fun!

thanks guys! pavel was about 2 weeks old (or less) when we found him so we know the drill this time around. i love the name of the cat formula ‘just born’ although i think it should be ‘jus’ born’. and the bum rubbing which she wails and flails at everytime poor thing, which pavel did, too. yay, up every 2 hours for feedings and poopings! weeeeeee!
I would do the same sort of thing, that kitteh knew there was a maniac like you in the neighborhood! so cute!
babeh kitteh!!! so jealous, i miss having a wee one! my former bottle baby/current demon spike broke a giant, thick, spanish glass jar i’ve had for YEARS last night — bad boy!

alchemy, i hear ya! i swear they have my info on a network “go to that lady’s house, she will feed you and you can wreck her stuff!” at one point i had 7 cats, one of whom was the first and meant to be an only cat and became crazy and violent and peed and pooped on everything in front of me. it rocked. i got 3 sisters in one fell swoop.
shannon, i totally feel your pain! barbe told me about using wax to stick stuff down so it doesn’t knock over, i have been using those double stick foam squares and it works pretty well. it needs to be directly knocked hard to fall over.
i will take some more photos soon. she squirms like crazy unless she is asleep, in which case she is all bundled up. i will have to post something on the cheezburger site.
